Is it me, or do they have something looking like the Manticore on the front of the bass drums?

I thought that too when I first saw it. There was a preview of this video on Animusic 1 DVD. It ended just as they showed the drum head. The full version of this piece was released on Animusic 2.

Here is a link to my favorite track on Animusic 1. Its called Acoustic Curves

The picture looks to me like a castle...with a tower on the right, and a large arch toward the left-hand side... maybe one of the 'Great Gates'?

Here are four more excellent tracks from Animusic 1

"Beyond the Walls"
This showed up in the special features section on Animusic 1. I love the synth and drums on this piece.

"Stick Figures"
I love the animation and the bass guitar on this.

"Future Retro"
This is the song that I covered, somewhat poorly, a few years ago. I learned a lot about music production and midi drum programming while working on this.

Animusic is really cool. One of my favorite music/computer animation combinations is Beyond The Mind's Eye. It was one of the first computer animation bits set to music. It was produced back in 1992, and Jan Hammer provides the musical scores for it. And if you don't know who Jan Hammer is, well, he is best known for providing the music for the Miami Vice Television Show...ie, the Miami Vice Theme, Crocket's Theme, etc. He also did the music on the TV Show "Airwolf".

This is my favorite clip from Beyond The Mind's Eye..."Too Far". It moves into the next song as this video clip has 2 songs, but Too Far is my favorite on the BTME DVD.

I am going to start a Jan Hammer thread just for the hell of it...
