Here is a clip from one of my all time favorite TV shows. John Cleese is one of the funniest men alive. This is classic. The setup...Basil has recently received a blow to the head (moose head falling off wall and clocking him), and he has several German guests at the hotel. I love this shit.

I loved Fawlty Towers. John Cleese is a comedy genious! Have you ever watched Are You Being Served? It's another Brit show that I love with campy/crazy humor.

While I was watching my heroes and drooling over multi-million pound F1 cars the other week, two of my girls went for a walk around Camden Market in London and bought me a new t-shirt. I thought you might like to see it....!

Tracy...I'll have to check that out...thanks
yes, John Cleese is a comic genius and Fawlty Towers in particular really cracks me up. I think my favorite episode would have to be the one about the hotel inspector, where they cant remember which piece of veal they added rat poison to.
Another was the one where a man died at the hotel and they try repeatedly to get him out of the hotel without anyone seeing him. I always thought that "A Weekend At Bernie's" was a kinda rip off from this.
I recently saw an intervciew with John Cleese where they asked him about this episode. he stated that when they were doing the research for this series that interviewed hotel owners said that removing dead bodies from hotels unnoticed is a common problem. This is what gave them the idea for that particular episode.
ya gotta love it....funny shit

Hi Trace.... Sadly, John Inman (camp Mr Humphries) died earlier this year. He was much loved by everyone in the 'business' and in the 70's when the show was out, became a really big star. He carried on playing pantomime dames right up to when he took ill...
Memorable moments.... "I'm free!!" (Mr Humphrie's catch-phrase); "I had a terrible time last night with my pussy..." (Mrs Slocombe relating cat problems to her colleagues); "Going down are we?" (asked Young Mr Grace - 85 if he was a day - to his blonde leggy, mini-skirted secretary as the lift doors closed!).
Sigh...! British comedy of the 70's... you'd never get anything like that on TV now... the P.C. brigade would pounce straight away!

I had read that Inman had passed. I felt so bad. He was so freaking funny. The entire cast of that show was fantastic.
This clip is for you G!

Great T-shirt Graham! John Cleese is not only one of the funniest people you'll ever want to see, he's also a great actor! I wish he would have re-joined the troup for Concert For George. I suppose his absence made it possible for Tom Hanks to have the thrill of performing the Lumberjack song with them, but without Cleese, the Pythons are not complete. Nor are they truly complete without Graham Chapman, but that can't be helped.
:jam: <--- I LOVE this little guy!

Thanks for the links Tra..
Last night I watched 3 episodes of Are You Being Served. I can get addicted to this quite easily. Brits have a really specialized sense of humor, definitely compatible with my funny bone.

Graham, I'm also a big Ab-Fab fan. Is the series dead or are they making new episodes?
