I was once a really big fan of John Denver...that is until Rocky Mountain High became so popular. I was living with my parents in Denver at the time and the damn radio stations were playing that song at least 4 times per hour...it was in all of the local radio and tv ads, and you just generally became sick of the song and John Denver.

However, in spite of that little tidbit, I still think John Denver was a very talented musician who DID crank out some pretty nice tunes. It's a shame he was lamer in the end by violating his suspended pilot's privileges (alcohol-related problems, DUI's, etc.) and crashing his experimental airplane in the Pacific Ocean.

Oh well...beyond all this doom and gloom lurks a really cool tune though. I have had an incredible fetish for eagles all of my life...it seems Mark has a similar fetish for Hawks. So...with regards to our similar fetishes...I present to you, John Denver remembered...The Eagle and the Hawk.

That was an interesting video...thanks.

By the way the hawk thing came about by....

My original studio was located in a large upstairs bedroom in my house on....yep....Hawk Lane! I used to host these Wednesday night jam sessions as the small studio easily supported a full band, and I had all the proper equipment. Full drum kit, keyboards...the works with full recording capability.

After a while the locals started calling it Hawk Studio. ya know....abbey road....hawk lane. There were a lot of jokes. I didnt even make up the name...my jam buddies did. I was just getting back into music after a 30 year layoff so its a term of endearment for me. It'll prolly be hawk studio forever.

It wanst long after I discontinued the jam sessions that I met David.

That's a really cool story, Mark. Damn, and all this time I thought you were just a nut for Hawks like I am for Eagles....LOL. Great story all the same!

I actually forgot if I ever told you that story.

Anyway...I dig eagles too. So majestic... a true sign of power.
