Copying (or stealing in some cases) the work of other artists probably happens more frequently than we realize. I don't know if you could call much of it "stealing" though because there are many people out there who have been heavily "influenced" by the music of others.
So now I submit to you that the music of the Beatles has managed to breech many creative boundaries. Here is an example of how a part of "Birthday" found it's way into "Rock This Country" by Shania Twain. Each clip is about 30 seconds long and the comparison begins at about 13 seconds into each one.

Do you think that Macca, Yoko, or Sony Music Group, or even the RAII, ASCAP, or the AP, UPI, and anyone else who gives two rips about something like this have gone after Shania Twain?? I don't think so...and the fact that Shania's husband & producer (Mutt Lang) happens to be a major producer of some major Classic Rock Bands probably doesn't hurt in a situation like this...hehe.
