One of my co-workers (an older guy), who once played drums for Gary Pucket back in his glory days, told me about this Bose system about a year ago. This is a revolutionary design which carries the sound uniformly throughout a small venue in the typical Bose fashion. The very unique thing about this system is that it aleviates the need for a HUGE PA system with monitors because you just plug yourself (and mic) into your personal amplification system and play...you can stand right in front of it within a few feet, everyone else on stage hears you perfectly, and you hear them perfectly. My co-worker now has 4 of these systems for the band he plays in and he says these things are the absolute BOMB. The little semi-animation which I stole from the Bose website shows how simple they are to set up and tear down.

Here is a pic of a stage set-up with 6 Bose L-1s set up...notice the absense of monitors and big amplifiers. They have one with a bass boost system also...each system comes with the speaker tower and a sub-woofer as shown. The animation shows the Model 2 which comes with the ToneMatch Engine.
Visit the Bose website at the URL below for more info. The Model 1 starts at $1699.00 according to the website. I've been to 2 Guitar Centers and they have had these set up in the acoustic guitar room and they do sound pretty nice.
