Monte Montgomery from the 2007 NAMM Show...I love the way Monte plays electric guitar licks on his acoustic...he even adds a bit of electric effects. When I grow up I want to play just like him....

Holy krap... How come I never heard of this guy?? Amazing stuff.

Forgetting the left hand for a moment, I cant believe his right hand technique! Jeez...

I remember back in the old hawk studio I used to crank the acoustic/electric through a digitech effects pedal and into a 100W amp. What great sounds you can get. It was a constant fight against feedback though.

In that second vid the bassists bass looks like a carvin lb70 with some other kind of neck.

Yea, Monte's picking technique defies conventional picking and there is only one other person whom I have ever observed who uses a similar technique...that would be Lindsey Buckingham...he's more of a "plucker" instead of a "picker", and uses a lot of hammering with his left hand intermixed with his plucking style. I don't know, but I think Monte would play circles around Lindsey though. But that's MY opinion...and you know how THOSE are...hehe.

How about a little Jimi Hendrix, a la Monte Montgomery...."Little Wing"

He mixes up some "picking" with his "plucking" in this one.
