And this is some of the best PORN you will ever see on the internet! And we will start it off with a honey that looks absolutely delicious! This is a Custom Hamer Newport.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/LarryC/Hawk%20Studio%20Forum/Newport_Porn.jpg
I love that matching headstock! This beauty comes with gold hardware, from the stair-stepped tuner buttons down to the Bigsby temelo. Victory inlays on the fingerboard, ivoroid binding all around the body, neck, and headstock...even in the f-holes. And it comes with two Seymour Duncan "Seth Lover" humbuckers.

Although I DO have an affinity for Hamer's 59-burst finish, I did not choose the remaining guitars for that reason...these were in the catalogue. This model isn't quite as spicy and the first, but still looks yummy! She has chrome hardware, ivoroid binding all around, a single victory inlay at the 12th fret, stop tail-piece with tunomatic bridge, and 2 Seth Lovers.

This baby is the Hamer Artist...it is semi-hollow, and in addition to the ivoroid binding, she also has abalone inlaid all around just inside of the ivoroid. Victory inlays, and two Seth Lovers. Notice this one has two volume and one tone control.

One of the most famous Hamer models, the Studio (formerly called the Sunburst). This is the Custom Studio with 59-burst finish, victory inlays, ivoroid binding all around, and two Seymour Duncan '59s. She's solid mahogany with a figured maple top, and a set mahogany neck.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/LarryC/Hawk%20Studio%20Forum/Monoco_Porn.jpg
And lastly...for THIS photo spread at least...is the Hamer Monaco. It's single-cut body design is reminiscent of the Les Paul. She's solid mahogany with a figured maple top, 59-burst finish, ivoroid binding all around, victory inlays, and 2 Seymour Duncan pickups. The most common combination I've seen is a JB at the bridge and a '59 at the neck.
Ok, be sure to get a paper towel on the table by the door on your way out...we wouldn't want you to go back out into the forum with drool all over yourself. :D

Oh ohhh Im getting a serious stiffy looking at this porn. They are all sexy but I have a serious longing for quilted maple. It always looks awesome with a burst of any color. Maple trees on this planet need to grow wider to eliminate the need for bookmatching.

Don't you just LOVE this kind of PORN? Reading your post on the Guitar & Bass Building thread from this morning made me start having some of THOSE thoughts...leud and lascivious thoughts...of bare naked wood, slowly getting dressed out...DAYUMMMM.
Well, that put me in the mood to do some searching on the web for MORE PORN!...and so here we have a J-Bass body from Mighty Mite which is posted for auction on ebay at the moment...I know it's enough to give you wood...but please try not to drool on the pics...

This is ebay item # 110146423550 and the price is set at $169.95 with $15.00 shipping.

That last one wasn't enough for me...needed MORE PORN!! So here's another J-Bass from the same seller on ebay...same price as the other one too...almost the same finish:

man thats sweet. Like you, I have the bug real bad. I can think of at least 4 that I would like to build at the moment.
Part of what motivated me was your tele build. I wish I could do an article on that :)
If you want to compile some pics and text I could put something up in the articles section, or you could if you like.
Im writing articles to help get the site indexed.
Man...that tele is nice. What was the questimated final price tag on that? If I do a quitar it'll most likely be a carved top PRS style. Grizzly has a nice kit that comes in several models. On the model where you dont have to shape the headstock it only comes with floyd rose tremolo (yuk). If you get one where you have to shape the headstock you can get it hardtail or standard tremolo. it looks like a pretty nice kit and comes in around $300-$400 somewhere.

Mark have you emailed the Grizzly people to see if they wouldn't give you a hard tail with the pre-shaped headstock? I would think they would do that if you requested it, you may have to pay a little for it but then I don't see why if the kits are the same price. Hell, not having to do the rout for the Floyd Rose should easily cover the cost of a pre-shaped headstock...but maybe I'm thinking too logically again though.
Hey, I would be happy to do a write up on my tele project! My final cost was somewhere in the neighborhood of $450 to $475 if memory serves...I was planning on around $750 with the parts and prices I had initially plotted out getting, but I altered my course a little along the way (the pickups mainly) and found some good deals on some of the other parts...but the pickup costs was about $150 less than I had originally planned. I was originally going to go with Seymour Duncans but decided to go cheap until I knew the guitar would be playable...and then upgrade. But I've changed my mind about upgrading with the pups I got.
I will locate some pics and start pecking out an article for you. In the meantime, here are two more Mighty Mite bodies...a strat routed for a single humbucker, and another routed for two humbuckers...drooooool!!! That single hummer would be really easy to do, one pickup, one potentiometer, one output jack, no switches...

I did call Grizzly once to see if they shipped them from stock and the answer was yes. DUH..ME...I guess all they had to do is swap in a finished neck on the hard tail version....DUH. I shoulda asked them. They are right here in PA too! I guess that shaping a headstock is no big deal really.
The guitar looks pretty nice for the price. Maybe next time around. I really dont play guitar too much, except when I get a bug up my ass about a certain song. I would however like to get a solid body just to play around with. My only current 6 string electric is an Epiphone.
Thats great about the article. I can format it and enter it for you if you like including FTPing the images to hawks site. Kool!
That Mighty Mite strat body is awesome. Man....would I love to build that! I really love the rear routing. I cant see using a pick guard if you dont have to. I think I would go for the two pickup version and drill an extra pot hole to get PU1-vol, PU2-vol and a master tone control.

More Porn....I have yet to get this one off of layaway at my local music shop, and as the time draws nearer, I'm getting a little more anxious to have it here to play around with!

I love that Honeyburst over the the book-matched flaming maple top! And those P-90s are crispy sounding pickups! They have a fair amount of "chunk" as well as "quack" ;) Hopefully I will have it after my next payday.

Just picked up the latest addition to the family this evening...she's on the far right of this group photo:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/LarryC/Hawk%20Studio%20Forum/HamerFamily01.jpg
Now for some close-ups...first will be my Quilt-top (SATQ) which is the first Hamer I've ever owned:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/LarryC/Hawk%20Studio%20Forum/SATQ-1.jpg
Next up is my Cherry Sunburst Flametop (SATF)...I got this one for a song because it had some minor damage on the edge of the binding which happened in shipping...but the neck is solid and this has been my favorite axe for "noodling."
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/LarryC/Hawk%20Studio%20Forum/SATF-1.jpg
And then, of course, there is the Standard that I never thought I would have...(STDF) Flaming maple top in Cherry Sunburst:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/LarryC/Hawk%20Studio%20Forum/STDF-1.jpg
And lastly, a closeup of the new addition...the Flametop P-90 (SATFP90) in Honey Sunburst:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/LarryC/Hawk%20Studio%20Forum/SATFP90-1.jpg
I am just now getting around to playing around on her at home...boy those P-90 soap bars are incredible with a lot of "chunk".
There are two more models that I am considering adding to my arsenal...a Hamer Vector (flying V), and a Hamer Echotone (hollow body a la 335). After that, I think I will be complete. :) LOL.
