I stumbled upon this video on youtube this afternoon...save for the wings flapping at the very beginning, the audio track is supposedly that of the original audio cassette demo John Lennon made which was used by Jeff Lynne and the remaining Beatles to produce the official release of FAAB. It is quite interesting to hear John's part without the addition of the others...makes you really appreciate the great creative chemistry The Beatles had when they worked together.

Cool... I think it is a copy of the original audio. I've heard snippets of it used by George Martin, Jeff Lynne, Macca etc. when they've been discussing how the track came about. The original tape was owned by Yoko but passed to the band when the idea for doing it arose.... I particularly like the way Paul and George have finished off the Lennon 'whatever happened to...' bits where he lapses into the 'dum-dee-dum' mode. As you say.... it just goes to show how they worked together... no doubt about it, but the final version IS a Beatles song!

Oh no doubt it's a Beatles song! It was really cool to hear it for the first time back in the day...what 12 years ago?? Jeesh doesn't seem possible. The harmonizing in the middle bit was so reminiscent of the Abbey Road album harmonies. They certainly built a masterpiece around John's demo.
