Here are a few quick shots of my current project, one of my all time favs, the Navy Hawkeye. I saw a lot of these when I was in the service and almost got a ride on one.

Most of the build is complete. Cockpit is interior green and the canopy has been glued in place and masked. It will all be painted except for the masked windows. For the first time I used frisket film to mask the windows. Its clear enough not to be able to be seen in the photos.

You can see filler putty all over the aircraft and there is more to go.
The props have been primed, painted, futured, decaled and futured again. They will be shot with a flat clear along with the rest of the aircraft as a last step. Future is awesome Tracy, you gotta try it.

This is an interesting kit that has a lot of recessed panel lines. It should detail very nicely. I cant wait to begin painting it. The landing gear is painted and complete and will have to be masked.

More pics to come after the primer coat is on.

By the way, Tracy, my Iwata HP-C Plus arrived today and I spent about an hour playing with it. It is simply AWESOME! I cant believe the thin lines that you can get with it, and it shoots spots flawlessly. Bf-110 here I come!

I love the Hawkeye, I'll have to do that one. She'll look killer when painted. I look forward to seeing it done.

I knew you'd love the Iwata, they're great for detail work. If you remove the tip cap, you can get an even finer line (just be careful not to ding the needle tip on anything). It's a very sexy brush.

I use frisket for masking too. It's nice and thin and paint never gets under it.

I put future on my shopping list so I won't forget it. I need something to give a shiny finish inside the demons mouth that I'm working on (a Halloween prop).

Yes, the Iwata is awesome. I only see bringing it out occasionally. Overall for modeling the bottom feeder is better and easier to use. This new brush is really remarkable.
A finer line?? Jeezz...its as thin as a pencil mark now :)

Future...yes! It is not as glossy as I would like but its super easy to use and clean up. It is also a tough finish once its dried. I guess it is because its meant to be walked on :) It deglasses decals PERFECTLY. So good in fact that I can look at the decal under a magnifier and cant detect the clear edge. It works that well. Im experimenting now to see how it overcoats the mud and dirt pigments that I have also been experimenting with. Thes pigments are really awesome and I would imagine you could use them for a lot of the stuff that you do. They are somewhat expensive though. They work like ground pastels but much better. If you're curious search on Mig Pigments.

By the way, Future is now called Pledge Future or Pledge with Future. The product rename created chaos in the modelling community.

Anyway...the hawkeye is really nice and should make a decent model when complete. The canopy over the cockpit is what scares me. I know that I wont do a good job on it but Im gonna give it my best shot. As for the rest of the model...piece of cake. Thanks for looking in.

Thanks. I forgot to comment....is that a Bf109 hanging between the 'Stang and the Stuka? it looks really nice. Perfect choice of coloring for the bottom of the aircraft. hats-off Scotty!
