I completed most of the weathering yesterday. Its my first attempt at full scale weathering. It was a good practice run and I already know a few things that I will change on the next go around. This weathering crap takes many attempts to master.

After the base coat I added 2 coats of future, applied decals and then another two coats of future to seal them. im not getting any glassing at all. Then an oil wash was added made up of raw umber oil paint thinned with turpentine. Last, mud, rust and smoke pigments were added.

I popped up the track on the starboard side so I could get underneath it. I will glue it back down later.

On the next build I will weather the chassis before adding the road wheels and tracks. That should make life easier.

I still have to weather the figure but Im waiting as I have several other figures drying and I want to do them all at the same time.

here we go... Here is a before shot....

There is more that I want to do to it. I dont have the tracks quite right yet. I need to practice getting the grunge into the recesses of the tracks and less on the raised portions where the grunge wears off. its an easy fix as I haven't clear coated the dirt down yet.

Thanks for looking :peepwall:

It looks fantastic. I think you're doing a killer job. I particularlly like the under carrage shot.

Thanks Tra. The pics dont do it justice. It looks a lot better than the pics show....really natural. I guess I need to shoot these under my photo lights and adjust the camera's K value.

Those pigments are some messy shit. The smallest particle of it creates a big mess. I had to cover the table with plastic :cu1:

I have now acrylic resin to make "mud clumps". I tried it once on the test tank and didnt like the way it looked. Im missing one ingredient though. I'll try it again in the future.
