Hey guys and gals! You guys may recall that we had a new member join us here a few months ago named John Denner. John is the axeman who wields an Ernie Ball Music Man Axis and can play Eddie Van Halen chops better than anyone else in the world...and every bit as well as EVH his own self... And you may remember that John was born without a hand on his right arm, but he has not allowed that to hold him back from being a guitar slinger of the legendary caliber...not even a little bit!

Well, John was sharing this particular video on youtube today...and it is a CLASSIC! John has been getting some really high-level exposure lately, and has been invited to play with Les Paul on his weekly show...but this video here is DYNOMITE!!!

John was a guest on the Howard Stern show recently and the audio is taken from that. I am not necessarily a fan of Howard Stern because I personally feel that he is rude, crude, and socially unacceptable and damn proud of it...HAHA. When I first saw that John was on the program I have to confess that I was leary of Howard's motive for having him on because Howard is a very blunt and rude sort of a guy for the most part (my opinion of course) and I thought he may have had a morbid scheme in mind to poke fun at John about his apparent handicap (I think Stern is the type who would tell quadraplegic jokes to Christoper Reeve if he had had the chance just to get an on-the-air reaction). But John put Howard Stern in his place, baybeee! Stern asked him if he could play Hot For Teacher by Van Halen...and when John was finished playing it, all Howard Stern could say was "WOW". John literally put Howard at a loss for words...imagine that. And because of it, John has just soared to the very top of my list of incredible people...anyone who can shut Howard Stern up is MY HERO!!!

So now...is that incredible or WHAT?? I suppose that, in all fairness to Howard Stern, I should conclude that it was very nice of him to feature our friend on his radio program...but something deep inside tells me that Howard got a dose of something that he was not expecting...I LOVE IT! LOL. And I LOVE John Denner's guitar playing!

ROCK ON JOHN! YOU DA MAN!

Larry - I actually heard John playing the morning it aired. He did great and they had nothing but respect for him. It was really cool to hear.

Thanks Mark, I don't watch/listen to Stern because his brashness (and much of the content of his program) drives me freakin nuts. He appears to have a basic lack of respect for humanity sometimes. Sorry if you're a fan, he just drives me nuts. I'm glad they treated our buddy, John, with respect because he deserves it! :D

Yeah, he's certainly not for everyone and certainly no need for apology. I even turn it off now and again when it's the same old same old. It's a good speed for me on the a.m. drive in prep for work. Believe it or not, some mornings when they are just loosely chatting about nothing in particular, their voices are somewhat calming to me.

John was incredible. Your audio clip reminded me of how dead-on his sound is to EVH's. They should have rung up John this Spring instead of postponing the tour for a month when Eddie needed tests done (OK, hopefully I don't catch a bunch of s%#t from EHV diehards out there who may be reading this.)
