Mark, I had to share this link with you. It's got some of the most beautiful and amazing photos of Jupiter and a few of it's moons that I have ever seen.

Hi Tracy. I know this was intended for your brother, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed them. I'm fascinated by space and these types of images. If they were ever taking volunteers from the general public to go on some crazy space mission, I'd go in a heartbeat - although, something tells me first I'd better get the courage and learn to stomach Kingda Ka at Six Flags before making such statements. haha. Ya know - baby steps!
I was drawn to Carl Sagan's "Cosmos: A personal Voyage" when we watched it in science class in Junior High. I would have loved a career in this field but then I heard it had a lot to do with physics - YUK! So that was that.
I just recently downloaded a handful of beautiful stellar images and I'll send you as many as I think an e-mail message will endure.

markD, I'd love to see the photos! I've been an astronomy buff since as long as I can remember. I was creaming over those Jupiter and moon shots. Sheesh, such beauty. It's breath taking. Especially when you look at them through a telescope with your own eyes. But you can't see anything like this detail through a scope.
You can send me the photos at sinnocent1++ @ ++comcast++ .net ++ (minus the ++ signs and spaces).

Trace... thanks for posting these - absolutely brilliant! Io is a planet in turmoil... I imagine one day it might be pulled apart by the g-forces from Jupiter.
Like Mark, I've also been fascinated by this stuff since I was small. I remember writing to NASA when I was 12 and getting a space explorer pack, full of stickers, photos and posters. My all-time favourite Airfix kit was a three foot tall Saturn V.... :-)
One of my favourite Hubble images is of the Eagle Nebula (below) - the scale of the clouds shown in the images is mind-blowing!
Have you also seen Google Sky? If you're a space buff its well worth checking out!
