Hi Guys
Thanks for checking in here. First off, thank you Al for transposing the song down to C. That should make life easier.
In my experience doing these long distance projects, details are often lost when the emails start flying, certain people dont get CCed etc. I founds that it is much easier to manage things on a message thread like this. It keeps us on the same page.

I was hoping to organize things a bit, or at least start some organization on this project. Please let me give you my thoughts as a starting point, subject of course to band opinion.

Alfred: has at least my studio capabilities and probably better. he obviously has all the tools he needs to record takes and videos.

Julius: I believe that you are still in Texas...is that right? I dont know what your recording capabilities are. What equipment do you use...do you have 24 bit capability etc.

Louie: I dont know about yours either but Im sure at least you can record at Canon if necessary. Glad to see you on board for this man!

Project: I have to agree with Al, we can improvise but try not to stray too far from the original as far as overall length is concerned. As the tracks come together and I release teasers, Im sure you guys may want to retake sections of the song as we go along. We'll see. What I'd like to to is mix Al's drum track with the original playing at lower volume in the background, create a tempo and click track (with lead in) and get it to Julie and Louie. This should give you a good time base reference for your takes.

Drums: Alfred is planning to use the Roland / BFD combo and send me audio in WAV format.

Guitars: I guess its up to you guys how you want to trade off guitar parts.

Vox: Same with vocals. You guys will have to work out some sort of arrangement. As for me, I cant sing worth a shit. I might be able to sneak in a background vocal but Im guess it'll sound like crap :)

Bass Guitar: I plan on using my custom Carvin, probably played with a pick and tuned down a half step. I think I want the same growling punchy type of sound I got on Sweet Child. I need only DI right into the board. No biggie. As for content, my first instinct is to stay close to the original but add a number of fills here and there to make it a little more interesting.

I guess thats about it for now. Opinions are welcome :)

I'm really looking forward to this one! My brain is flush with old garage memories :)
