Hi all.

We've officially had word to go moderately global with the news, so I thought I'd just update you all.

The attached photo (below) shows the refurbished Hammond L102 organ which Keith Emerson will play onstage on Tuesday 30 June when he performs with Spinal Tap at the final gig of their world tour in Wembley Arena. We finished work on it Saturday (Geoff and I under Tom's guidance), and it's sounding moderately awesome if I don't say it myself! The keyboard is now stowed away safely in Tom's van in Rochdale with a couple of amps and cabs which we're driving it through onstage.

The plan is that we're taking the keyboard down to Wembley on Monday afternoon and meeting up with the tour stage manager to get the keyboard into the venue and ready for the soundcheck. This will probably take place on Tuesday (the main gig itself is in the evening) but we'll have total backstage access and effectively act as Keith's road-crew, to assist him with it when he arrives. He's guest starring on ST's new album so they've asked him to play a couple of numbers with them live, so we'll set the keyboard up and make sure it works correctly through rehearsals and the actual gig itself. Tom would normally be handling the technical side of things himself, but now that he's got his foot in plaster its going to fall to Geoff and myself to make sure it goes to plan.

Things being what they are at a Spinal Tap gig, EMO is planning to finish his keyboard solo by lying on the stage bereft with the Hammond on top of him. His road crew (i.e. us!), will then run on, lift the organ off him, and help carry him off on a stretcher! The very thought of Keith Emerson being carried offstage by at least two-thirds of Noddy's Puncture, gives me a warm feeling inside and a rather large smile! :-)

Keith has arranged rooms for us in the Wembley Hilton for Monday, but I'll be bringing Tom home on Tuesday night after the after-show party as he has to attend hospital on Wednesday morning.

We'll be taking photo's / video throughout the trip (obviously!) and will post them on the Web etc. after the event.

More to follow hopefully over the next few days....!

Cheers - G.
