The scenario.....

Sunday afternoon; drop Becky off to advanced singing in LIPA; Sandra and I head off into town with the digital camera to record Liverpool scenes for the 'In My LIfe' video.

The Cavern Club, the two cathedrals, LIPA (...the Liverpool Institute), Matthew Street scenes, the site of NEMS (Brian Epsteins old shop), etc. etc.

Go inside the RC cathedral (aka Paddys Wigwam around here...) and the camera immediately warns me that the SD card needs formatting. I tried everything I could to rescue it, but in the end lost all the photos on the card (and a whole lot more.....).

Got home and copied each of my SD cards onto at least two hard drives for safe keeping. Who says you can't have enough back-up discs??

Grrrr.....computers!! (...hang on, wasn't this the last post as well????)

Grumpy from Liverpool.

Cold weather often creates static, which causes havoc on sd cards. Sounds like you have been bitten!!

Major League Bummer, Graham! The good news is that you don't live too far from these sites and are in a position to re-do everything if necessary. If that happened to ME, I'd just be fooked! LOL.

I have a Sony Handycam which uses both an SD-type card AND a DVD mini disk. It was quite pricey but has been well worth the investment. They have come down considerably in price since I got mine...and yes THAT really burns my ass (maybe I'm on the wrong thread). HAHAHA. But that's the way of technology...6 moths after you get something new it is either outdated or the price has dropped significantly...or both.

I hope you are able to recover from your setback easily enough.

Cheers M8y
