Hey guys...a funny thing happened last night. One of my young viewers on youtube asked me if I could make an instructional video of how to play the opening riff to the Beatles' If I Needed Someone. It's a 14 year old kid who is learning to play the guitar and loves the Beatles' Music...so how could I say no to THAT? We gotta keep the legacy going with the young ones.
Well, here's where it gets funny. That tune is over 40 years old now...I've listened to it ever since it was released too...but do you think that I ever got around to learning how to play it??? HAHAHA! HELL NO! It has always been one of those songs which I felt I COULD play if I ever wanted to, but even after all this time I just never got around to learning it.
Ok..so I was challenged by a 14 year old! I learned it, pulled out the old drum machine and set a pattern...broke out my cheap-ass Johnson bass guitar and learned the bass...did a rhythm guitar track...did some harmonies (one of the weakest aspects of the recording IMO) and proceded to make an instructional video.
I have posted a video of just the song on myspace...I am uploading the whole enchalada on youtube right now. I also tweaked the audio mix a bit and made an mp3 for my player on myspace. The myspace stuff is all loaded up.

The youtube video is 6:33...the song takes up just over 2 minutes of it...HAHA.
Hope you all enjoy and ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!!!
