Ah, the myriad of new members... none of which post.

Any idea what's going on? Just a ton of lurkers who're curious about what we have in work and how we noodle-out this stuff via the net?

<-- confuzzled

Well guys....this lowly bass player is offrering his services whenever you need it, but alas....as I understand it, you already have one of those "lowly types"!!!!

In all honesty, though, I'm getting ready to re-join some of the "old" guys from the late 70s-80s for a reunion of sorts....long distance - like you guys....hope the effort is as good as yours!!

Hey Randall.

Good to hear from you, and glad you appreciate our efforts!

Take care - Graham (Liverpool, UK)

Randall

I cant wait to hear what you eventually put together. Do you have any other musicians on board yet?

The production stuff is tricky and is certainly an art form of its own. Also, tedious but very enjoyable. I'm sure Graham will agree as he is doing part of our production load now.

We have a number of things in work, including a 23 minute version of Tarkus which I am just laying the ground work for now.

Thanks guys!!

I GUARNTEE that I will be getting as much advice as this "old rocker" can handle!

As I have stated before, my "experience" if you will with recording is paying $70.00 per hour for an old analog 8 track system in days gone by....this new-fangled "digital" thing is both intriguing and scary as hell! But what the hell.....we only live once!!

glad you finally made it here, rf! typing this from my hotel room in vancouver (before departing on an alaskan cruise with my daughter) - what can i say? jet lag has kicked-in with a vengence this morning (of course, it's not helped with the fact that it's bright daylight outside well before 5am local time!).

will write more when i return... obviously, my participation will be pretty spotty for the next couple of weeks.

ttfn...

Similar keyboards... silmilar hairstyles.... the swines!!! :-)

How's the weather up North? I had the fans on in the studio today during the recording sessions..... it went from typical cool and English to hot and humid in under 24 hours!!!

I just wish it would make up its mind!! :-)

Take care - G

Wild!

I couldn't help but notice that from your sig, you hail from "across the pond".....cool....I was born there many, many years ago in a little town called "Butronwood".......somewhere around Liverpool. It's long gone but it was in the County Lancashire. It was an Air Force Base (back then) and My Father was stationed there. I don't remember it much, we left there when I was 5 or so, but the folks liked it a great deal.....

What a small world!

A couple of hundred yards from where I live is the M62, the main trunk route across England from Liverpool to Hull. The motorway runs right through what remains of the airbase..., about 4 miles away from our home.

The town of Burtonwood is still there, but so are five of the original hangars. You can see them on this photo from Google earth. You can also see where one of the runways has been split by the motorway. They are used as industrial business units now, but are mostly unchanged.

Enjoy!

I see that it logged me in as guest - much like David....oh well...

It is, indeed, a small world!! I have often wondered what ever became of my birthplace (I had heard that it was pretty much abandoned in the early-mid 60s). That's absolutely wild!
Just imagine.......a long time ago, at an airbase far, far away......ooops!!

Thanks a million for the photo!!!

Cool!!

David, I need a favor from you kind Sir.....

My Wife has been on me for about 20 years to take a cruise to Alaska....I have decided to "bite the bullet" and surprise her on her birthday (1-4-55) with one of those "all inculsive" kind of things.

If you can (and don't mind) could you fill me in on the "ins and outs" of an Alaskan cruise? You know, the travel channel is OK for some things, but I wouldn't mind a "musicians" perspective on this thing!!!!!

Thanks! Bud!!!

hey rf,

after toiling about 12hrs yesterday, i finally got up both a trip report and lots of thumbnailed pics on my personal website. when you've got time i suggest having a read/look there - then, if you have specific questions, just lemme know and i'll try to answer them.

the direct link is http://davidpresley.com/travel-cruise-20070601-touringvancouverbc.html - but if you have any difficulty with that, just go to davidpresley.com, select "travel", then select "sapphire princess".

hth :)
